Advanced Medical Photobiomodulation
K-Laser Therapy uses selected wavelengths of light to stimulate key molecules in human tissues. Decades of medical research have identified the precise wavelengths and frequencies of photon energy that positively stimulate cellular metabolism. It has proven to accelerate and enhance the body’s own healing and reparative abilities.
Class IV K-Laser energy penetrates deep into musculoskeletal tissue and accelerates cell metabolism by increasing blood flow, nutrient absorption, cell division and excretion of waste products. Therefore skin, tendons, ligaments and muscles repair faster with reduced inflammation, scarring and pain.
Healthcare professionals have reported very few side effects in over 20 years of use. Trials of K-Laser as an alternative to steroid injections are currently being conducted in the NHS. There are few contraindications to the use of laser therapy. Occasionally some old injuries or pain syndromes may feel aggravated for a few days, as the healing response is more active after use. Whilst using class IV lasers special glasses are required to protect the eyes from the powerful infrared beam.
K-Laser Therapy is suitable for any age group, any skin tone and any body size. From athlete to pregnant woman, from acute injuries to chronic conditions k-laser treatment protocols are tailored to specific individuals. We seldom use k-laser therapy in isolation, during a typical treatment session we may incorporate k-laser with mobilisations, soft tissue release and exercise to give you the best outcome.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I get laser therapy? Acute conditions may be treated daily, particularly if they are accompanied by significant pain. More chronic problems problems respond better when treatments are received 2 to 3 times per week, tapering down to once a week or once every other week with improvement.
How many treatments does it take? Like any physical therapy treatment, this depends on the nature of the condition being treated. For some acute conditions 1 to 6 treatments may be sufficient. Those of more chronic nature may require up to 10 or more treatments. Conditions such as severe arthritis may require ongoing periodic care to control pain.
What does laser therapy feel like? The treatment non-evasive and essentially painless. There can be a pleasant, warming sensation on the skin while the laser is operating.
How long before results are felt? People feel improvement (usually pain reduction and increased mobility) after the very first treatment. Sometimes you will not feel improvement for several treatments. This does not mean that the condition is not improving. Each treatment is cumulative and results are often felt by 3 or 4 sessions.

“I’ve seen numerous NHS and private consultants for stiffness and pain in the back and hip, and nerve pain in the thigh and shin for months. K-Laser offers automatic relief and continual treatment keeps symptoms under control. I would recommend K-Laser Therapy for any problem involving nerve pain and muscle problems. Anyone can have the treatment and a person does not have to be fit or able to do any physio. Mark is very helpful and knowledgeable.”
